Very rare convertible necklace-brooch by Seaman Schepps, New York City, late Art Deco circa 1938, crafted in solid 14K white gold with a high-polish finish. Ingeniously fitted with a retractable swivel bale for necklace wear and a hinged horizontal bar with trombone lock to wear as a brooch. Set with 11 round old rose-cut diamonds in bezel and four-prong settings totaling 4.65 ctw (F/G color, VS2 clarity), and five dangling natural Brazilian blue aquamarines totaling 35.89 ctw (no heat/no treatment). Weight 19.85g; chain length 15.25" (38.73cm); drop measures 52 x 48mm. Signed and stamped “SEAMAN SCHEPPS 14KT”. Very good conditions.
