A fabulous and highly important pair of convertible clip-brooches by Suzanne Belperron for René Boivin, created in Paris circa 1935 and widely regarded as the epitome of French Art Deco design. Masterfully executed in bold three-dimensional form, these rare, one-of-a-kind clips are crafted in solid 18K tri-color gold with a high-polish finish, showcasing Belperron’s unmistakable sculptural language and exceptional ateliership. Ingeniously convertible, they are fitted with concealed hinged pin bars for clip wear and a hinged horizontal bar to be worn as a brooch. The pair weighs 33.95 grams, measures 58 x 38mm, and all components are stamped with French hallmarks including the René Boivin maker’s mark and the eagle assay mark for 18K gold.
