This is a beautiful antique sculptural figure of an enthroned Mazu Quan Yin, cast in bronze in high relief in the late of the 19th century during the Qing Dynasty, circa 1880. The figure is show in full dress enthroned in a rectangular seat and wearing three birds attributions in the head. It is embellished with application of fire gilding, (partial remains). The figure of Mazu is represented with exceptional meditation and peaceful face expression. Mazu and Guanyin are both well-known deities in Chinese mythology. Mazu is the goddess of the sea, while Guanyin is the goddess of compassion. Materials: Bronze and gilt. Weight: 2 Pounds. (1.13 Kg.). Measurements: 244 mm by 159 mm by 114 mm (9.6 x 6.25 x 4.5 Inches).

Condition

The overall condition of this Qing Dynasty enthroned Quan Yin is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage and all parts are secured in their settings.
