A gorgeous pair of Mikimoto convertible dangle earrings, created in Japan (circa 1980) and beautifully designed as a true day-to-night jewel with classic elegance in solid 18k white gold with a high-polished finish. Ingeniously constructed, they feature removable dangle components with hooks, retractable posts for pierced and unpierced wear, and comfortable hinged omega backs for secure clip fastening. The earrings are set with 28 natural earth-mined diamonds—including 6 marquise brilliant cuts totaling approximately 1.20 ctw, 20 round brilliant cuts totaling approximately 0.72 ctw, and 2 emerald-cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.16 ctw (all F/G color, VS clarity)—and finished with two cultured round white pearls measuring 12 mm in the dangling settings. The pair weighs 11.4 g (7.35 dwt) and measures 35 x 12 mm (1.38 x 0.47 in). Stamped with Mikimoto’s maker’s mark “M” in a shield, the 18k gold assay/warranty mark, and signed “M 18KT.” Accompanied by a presentation jewelry box and in excellent condition, showing only light normal wear, with all gemstones secure and the piece carefully inspected to confirm condition and authenticity.
