Very rare Art Deco rounded pin brooch by Hayden W. Wheeler & Co., New York, circa 1930s, crafted in solid .900 platinum with impeccable millegrain work and fitted with a horizontal hinged pin bar and mechanical safety lock. Centered with a fine European rose-cut round diamond (0.75 ct, E color, VS1), surrounded by 60 graduated European rose-cut diamonds in calibrated French pavé totaling 2.71 ctw (E/F color, VS2). Accented by three channel-set stations of 29 calibre French-cut vivid royal-blue sapphires totaling approx. 0.87 ctw (origin noted as possibly Kashmir or Pailin). Weight 9.3 grams; 37mm diameter. Stamped with maker’s mark and signed “H W PLAT”.
