Beautiful square desk clock, created by the house of Cartier, during the art deco period, back in the 1925. This stunning piece has been designed with strong geometric patterns and carefully crafted with parts made up in yellow gold of 18 karats, carved agate, red coral, gilt bronze, black enamel and silver. The carved beveled agate is mounted in a retractable easel back stand and the 18kt gold parts are embellished with applications of black enamel. Accented with four corals geometrically placed at each corner. Movement: Mechanical 8 days, manual winding and sets from the back case. Dial: Round silvered with guilloche grounds, black Roman numerals and finely detailed gold hands. Inscribed, Cartier. Coral: Mount in screwed settings, with 4 squared sugarloaf cabochon cut carved from natural vivid red coral. Weight: 200.60 Grams, (128.59 Dwt). Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the case numbers 887, the serial numbers 577 and signed, "CARTIER 577 885 " The overall condition of this desk clock is impeccable. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the the enamel. All parts are secured in the settings.
