A beautiful Art Nouveau brooch by Alling & Company of Newark, United States (circa 1900), crafted in solid 14k yellow gold with intricate curvilinear detailing and exceptional period charm. The design is enriched with glossy green hot enamel and delicately accented by an arrangement of natural white pearls, creating a refined, nature-inspired composition typical of the era. At center, a bezel-set oval faceted natural peridot of approximately 1.35 carats adds a vivid green focal point, while 8 semi-round white pearls graduate from approximately 1.0 to 2.9 mm around the motif. The brooch is fitted on the reverse with a hinged horizontal pin bar and security hook for wear, plus an additional hook designed to hang a small pocket watch. It weighs 4.65 g (2.98 dwt) and measures 30 x 22 mm (1.18 x 0.87 in). Stamped with the maker’s mark for Alling & Company inside a clover cartouche, the gold assay mark, and inventory numbers “1698 14KT A,” and also electronically tested as 14k gold.
