Victorian festoon necklace, England/Europe, circa 1870–1890, richly set with 398 natural vivid red garnets for dramatic, period-correct color. The design features 19 oval cabochon garnets (approx. 47.5 ctw), five graduated pear cabochon garnets (approx. 28.0 ctw), and 374 round cabochon garnets with lightly faceted tops (approx. 37.40 ctw), all mounted in flush prong settings. Substantial weight of 98.40g; length 16.25" (41.28cm) with a central drop of 56mm. Unmarked. Excellent condition with all garnets secure. Includes presentation jewelry box.
