Circa 1890 Victorian octagonal postal stamps box crafted in solid .900/.999 silver with repoussé organic motifs. Features a two-part design with a lid mounted with an oval cabochon carved from translucent brownish jade and a depository compartment. Weighs 14.2 grams, measures 28 x 28 x 16 mm. Stamped with maker’s mark XIE CHENG, Chinese export seals, and city and silver alloy hallmarks. A rare and collectible piece. The overall condition of this box is very good. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the silvr. The Jade gemstone, is secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
