Extremely rare High Victorian memento cameo ring, England, circa 1870, crafted in solid 14K yellow and rose gold with a polished oval mount. Set with a natural operculum shell cameo in bezel (23 x 18 x 10mm), masterfully carved in high relief with the portrait of a bearded man facing left—crisp, precise detail and strong period character. Weight 9.63g; size 4.5 (sizable); measures 26 x 21mm and rises 10mm. Unmarked as typical; electronically tested as 14K gold. Very good conditions.
