This sculptural bone cuff is one of the most iconic designs from the 20th century. This extraordinary and extremely rare Elsa Peretti ivory bone cuff was designed for Tiffany & Co. and was made in the pre-ban ivory period between the 1974-1975. The cuff design was made to wear on the right-wrist to mimic the wearer's own wrist bone. Just a few were made in ivory, with an estimate of only eight to ten pieces and not many survived. The very first models are slightly different in shape and thickness, with more naïve look and were made exclusively between the 1970-1972 for Halston's favorite models for his runway presentations. The iconic bone cuff models, were originally created in the early 1970 when Elsa Peretti was working for Halston. It is unmistakably Peretti, just like hers silver cuffs. This Tiffany & Co. cuff bracelet has been carefully carved in solid ivory, with bold rounded and curved borders with very smooth finishes showing the beautiful patterns of the material. The free form of this so-called prototype was conceived to fit the right wrist bone. This sculptural piece is extremely rare, will make a great addition to any designer jewelry collection and is worthy of being in a museum. An example of this bracelet is displayed in the permanent collection of MoMA in New York City. Weight: 78.45 grams (50.30 Dwt.). Measures: Width of 62 mm (2.45 inches). Size: Fit a wrist up to 6.25 inches (16 Cm).
