A very rare and highly collectible Seaman Schepps convertible necklace-brooch, created in New York City (late Art Deco, circa 1938) and crafted in solid 14k white gold with a high-polished finish. Ingeniously designed for versatility, it features a retractable swivel bale to wear as a necklace and a hinged horizontal pin bar with a trombone lock to wear as a brooch. Set in bezel and four-prong settings are 11 old rose-cut diamonds totaling approximately 4.65 carats (F/G color, VS2 clarity), paired with five articulated drops set with 5 natural Brazilian blue aquamarines totaling approximately 35.89 carats, stated as unheated/untreated. The piece weighs 19.85 g (12.73 dwt); the chain measures 15.25 in (38.73 cm) and the drop section measures 52 x 48 mm (2.04 x 1.89 in). Stamped with maker’s mark and gold assay mark, and signed “SEAMAN SCHEPPS 14KT.” Very good conditions. All our diamonds and colored gemstones are naturally earth-mined.
