Statement domed ring by Fred Leighton, New York City, circa 1990, inspired by a René Boivin design and executed with bold Art Deco/Modernist geometry. Masterfully crafted in carved ebony wood with polished 18K white gold elements, the top is set with six bezel-set round brilliant diamonds totaling 1.12 ctw (E/F color, VS clarity; diamond weight engraved inside the shank). Weight 14.3g; size 6 (can be sized down with a spring ring); measures 30 x 14mm and rises 11mm. Signed and stamped “FRED LEIGHTON .750 D. 1.12.” Provenance: Fred Leighton, Madison Avenue, NYC.
