Edwardian/Belle Époque convertible brooch?pendant, circa 1900s (most likely France), exquisitely crafted in solid 18K yellow gold with platinum accents for the diamond settings. Fitted with a hinged pin bar and mechanical lock, plus a hinged retractable round bale for chain wear. Centered with a neoclassical guilloché enamel portrait of Venus (profile right) on a criss?cross engine?turned ground, finely painted in metallic enamels with pearl necklace, gold drop earrings, braided hair with pink bows and jeweled comb, and red robe over white blouse, framed by a scalloped border. Set with 32 calibrated European-cut round diamonds in flat prongs totaling 2.56 ctw (E/F color, VS1 clarity). Weight 13.2 grams; measures 35 x 37mm. Tested as 18K gold with .900 platinum elements.
