An gorgeous statement brooch from England, created during the Belle Époque / Edwardian era (circa 1900–1910) and executed with refined classical motifs in solid 18k yellow gold topped with platinum to enhance the diamond settings. Richly set with 42 natural earth-mined diamonds, the design is highlighted by four larger Old European-cut diamonds—placed at the center, the ends, and the drop—set in a mix of four-prong and bezel settings with a combined weight of approximately 1.65 carats (F/G color, VS clarity). Completing the composition are 37 graduated Old European and single-cut diamonds in French flush settings totaling approximately 1.09 carats (F/H/I color, VS/SI clarity), finished with impeccable millegrain detailing. The brooch is fitted on the reverse with a hinged horizontal pin bar and hook lock for secure wear. It weighs 8.45 g (5.38 dwt) and measures 42 x 36 mm (1.65 x 1.42 in). Unmarked, but tested as gold with platinum-topped settings. Very good conditions. All our diamonds and colored gemstones are naturally earth-mined.
