Extremely rare Austrian-Hungarian Empire clock ring, circa 1915, crafted as a beetle scarab in solid 18K yellow gold with silver-topped diamond settings and richly engraved, chiseled texture. Decorated with engine-turned guilloché under vivid green, blue, and red glass enamels, and set in millegrain with 20 old European rose-cut diamonds totaling approx. 0.90 ctw, plus two faceted ruby eyes (0.04 ctw). Ingenious hinged wings open via a mechanical pusher to reveal the time; Swiss 17?jewel hand-wind movement with side-lift winding mechanism. Weight 26.95g; size 7.5 (sizable); measures 30 x 26mm and rises 12mm. Unmarked; electrically tested as 18K gold. Very good conditions.
