Fabulous art deco desk smoker's touch-tip striker, created in Vienna Austria during the Edwardian period, back in the 1915. The sculptural desk match striker has been designed in the shape of a racehorse with a jockey. All mounted on a rectangular beveled plinth base of black glass. This decorative piece is very unusual, crafted in spelter and decorated with colorful non glossy polychrome enamels. It is a lovely well modelled statue of a mounted jockey on horseback with reins in front of a hitching post, which have the function of matches striker. Materials: Spelter, polychrome enamel, black glass and fabric. Weight: About 2.8 Pounds, (1.5 Kg.). Measurements: 172 mm by 197 mm by 80 mm (6.75 x 7.75 x 3.15 Inches). Hallmarks: Signed MADE IN AUSTRIA.
The overall condition of this touch-tip striker is very good. Beside the normal wear, there is no damage to the metal. All parts are secured in the settings.
