A stunning early American Art Nouveau jewel from circa 1890, crafted in solid 14k yellow gold with flowing free-form scrolls and organic motifs that capture the movement and artistry of the period. Distinctively American, it’s embellished with natural gems associated with the U.S.—including Montana blue sapphires and a natural freshwater pearl sourced from the Mississippi River—creating a rare, regionally meaningful composition with true collector appeal. The piece is fitted on the reverse with a hinged pin bar and security hook for brooch wear, plus a larger hook designed to hang a small watch. Set in bezel settings are two round faceted Montana blue sapphires totaling approximately 0.40 carats, and at center a free-form natural freshwater white pearl in a floating bar setting measuring approximately 12 x 6 x 4 mm. The brooch weighs 4.25 g (2.73 dwt) and measures 26 x 37 mm (1.02 x 1.46 in). Stamped with the gold assay mark “14KT.” Very good conditions.
