A very interesting Art Deco poison ring from the 1930s, created in Mexico and crafted in solid .925 sterling silver with ornate baroque-inspired floriated and twisted detailing. Designed with a concealed hidden compartment, the lid is engineered with a three-barrel hinge and a figure?eight security lock for secure closure. Set on top in a bezel setting is a vivid purple rectangular cabochon amethyst measuring 5 x 7 x 4 mm and weighing approximately 1.00 carat. The ring weighs 11.95 g (7.70 dwt), is size 8 (resizable upon request), measures 26 x 24 mm (1.02 x 0.95 in), and rises approximately 13 mm over the finger. Stamped with maker’s mark and silver assay marks, signed “.925.” Accompanied by a presentation jewelry box and in excellent condition, showing only light normal wear, with no damage to the silver and the amethyst secure, and the ring inspected to confirm condition and authenticity.
